Musa bin Nushair was born in the year of 19th Hijrah during the reign of Caliph Saidina Umar bin Khattab Radialahu Anhu (RA). He was the son of Nushair, a commandant in the army of the Bani Umaiyah (Umaiyah Dynasty). Mu'awiyah bin Abu Sufyan was the Caliph of the Bani Umaiyah at that time. Musa grew up to be a brave warrior like his father. He was sent as a representative of the governor in North Africa. His first task was to crush the revolt of the Barbar and then spread Islam there. He went on conquering many more states, and in the process, spreading Islam in those states. His capabilities made him a trusted officer of the Caliph. He was appointed Governor of North Africa but he continued with his missions to the west until to the town of Tanger (Thanjah). There he decided that he should stop and went back to his base in Africa.
In the year of 19th Hijrah, during the reign of Caliph Sayyidina Umar Bin Khattab Radiallahu Anha (RA), a baby boy was born in the Jazirah (state) of Arab. The baby boy was destined to chart a new history in the spread of Islam. He was given the name of Musa. His father was Nushair, A commandant of the Bani Umaiyah (Umaiyah Dynasty) army. At that time, Mu'awiyah Bin Abi Sufyan was the Caliph of the Dynasty. thus Nushair held an important position in his aministration. But Nushair was a person with stand. He did not want to see a split among the Muslims, that is between Sayyidina Ali Bin Abi Thalib and Mu'awiyah. One day the troops of Mu'awiyah were heading to the battle field, but Nushair did not join them.

Musa bin Nushair was a brave warrior who conquered many territories in Africa. He was then chosen to be the governor there with the base of his administration in North Africa. Musa then set his eyes on Andalusia. He wished to conquer the country and got the permission from Caliph Al Walid bin Abdul Malik, on condition he sent a small army first to test the situation there. It was led by Tharief. The success of the first attack prompted Musa to launch major attack. He sent Thariq bin Ziyad to lead the army. Thariq managed to conquer many territories. Later Musa came and conquered many territories as well. He then joined forces with Thariq to conquer Andalusia. After Caliph Al Walid died, his brother, Sulaiman took over power. He disliked Musa and bear grudges against him because Musa did not hand the loot of the war to him. Sulaiman imprisoned Musa until he died in the year 97th Hijrah.
Musa bin Nushair came back to the centre of administration in North Africa. He left behind some warriors, who were expert in religion, in every district the Muslims had conquered to teach Islam to the people. And one day in the Sabtah district, of which half of the population had embraced Islam, came a stranger riding on his horse along the country roads. The man came from a country far away! The news of the bravery and heroism of the Arabs who managed to chase the Romawi and took control of Africa, home of the Barbar, had come to the knowledge of the stranger. “Those are the Arabs. May be they could enlighten me on how to meet Governor Musa. Musa bin Nushair died in Hijaz in the year of 97th Hijrah. For two years he had to endure the abuses and tortures from a caliph who was crazy for wealth and forgot his ‘Jihad’. Worse than that, Caliph Sulaiman killed Abdul Aziz bin Musa in Andalusia through a messenger.
